It would be better than other shelf oils, but if you want the best, go Amsoil.

Nothing wrong with Royal Purple, I sell it and AMSOIL equally. AMSOIL sells 3 to 1 over Royal Purple. Take a look at the link below.

just as important, and in some cases even more important, dont forget to spend the money on a GOOD filter... never buy the mopar, fram, or other "cheaper" ones. I only use Mobil 1 filters.
I am using royal purple, and have been for the last 40K miles, and if you are wanting to "see" or "feel" a difference, dont set your standards too high... engine idles a little smoother, and no hemi "tick", but did not notice any mileage increase over Mobil 1 oil.

I haven't heard anyone with AMSOIL "not" get a mpg increase unless you got a real heavy foot. LOL

Mobil 1 and K&N are the same filter, you just pay another couple bucks to get the fancy nut on the bottom. thumb2

Those are both cheap filters IMHO.

Try WIX, Hastings, Donaldson or AMSOIL.

using RP, can't really 'tell' if there is much increase in MPG, only on second oil change with PR,was used Moble 1 twice before that, so syn has been in for a while.

Like RP because i can pick up localy, no need for mail order. cept for tranny and all other fluids Frowner

have one change in tranny.
next is PS and rear/front Diff.

might start pricing Ams.

have also put RP in tractors and old truck is next, figured it can't hurt?

If your vehicle sits a lot... look into our motorcycle oil 10W-40. It has rust and corrosion inhibitors in it and we recommend it to people with classics, hotrods and seasonal vehicles that sit most of the time. You can also look into our Engine Fogging Oil to keep the top end protected and our Gasoline Stabilizer for the fuel.

Vehicles that sit are harder on the oil then vehicles that are driven daily. Your oil still breaks down while sitting. Thus the common 3month/3000 mile oil change that has been used for years.
