What do I have to do when changing over from regular oil to the AMSOIL? Can I just drain the oil and put AMSOIL in and do everything just like a regular oil change?

I would assume that you have over 15,000 miles on your truck. I would do an engine flush before adding Amsoil.

You would need a second filter of any brand and Amsoil AEFCN, to complete the flush.

If you need any help, let me know.

Man, that really sounds like a lot of hassle. How hard is this going to be, HEMISUPERBEE?

I did my first oil change at 3000 miles and went with Mobil 1. I don't think it would be necessary to flush the motor first when you make the change from dino to synthetic.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in. I always recommend running the AMSOIL flush if you have over 25,000 miles. That seems to be the sweet spot. After all the years of selling AMSOIL and seeing the Oil Analysis reports. The 25,000 mile interval is the time to run the flush.

The flush is a piece of cake.

Before draining old oil, just install the other brand filter, add engine flush, and run engine for 15-20 minutes at 1500 rpm. do not drive with flush in engine.

Then change oil like you would normally.

Just did the engine flush back in Arkansas on an 07' Dodge Diesel. It's a piece of cake.

The engine flush isn't mandatory, but is a good idea. AMSOIL's oil will clean out any sludge and deposits over time, the flush just gives it a head start.

In some cases with over a 100K or a much older vehicle the flush might be to aggressive and just switching oil is recommended without the flush.

In your case I would definately use the flush. It's much less expensive then changing out an expensive oil filter sooner then needed.

I have always just added the flush if there was room for it and ran the car 20 min. Inst. say to change the filter and do it which makes the room for the flush, but a little more work. I figure doing a flush is going to break stuff loose regardless and go to the filter, and I never took the extra time to change the filter first.

What ever you decide, just don't drive with the engine flush in the oil.
