I wanted to know if you can switch from a synthetic back to just regular oil. I used Mobil 1 and now Royal purple and I use oil with both. I think its just so slick its going past my rings. When I used regular oil when I first got the truck I had no oil use at all. Ive herd alot of pep say when you go to synthetic you have to stay and some say it dosent matter. Anyways just see some of yalls opinions on the swtich thanks yall. And by the way im not starting a oil war here I dont want to here anything about RP and AMSOIL all I want is an answer to switching back to regular. Thanks yall.

iagree But that is too bad. Synthetics are SO much better for the motor long term. But seems like some have this issue. I personally haven't with either of my trucks yet. Although I haven't been able to test this one really. Only 2k on it since I bought it and put Amsoil in it.

But to answer your question, if you needed oil and had to stop at a gas station to add some you could pour conventional right in with the synthetic. No big deal.

Yeah I know I really like the idea of synthetics but if its gunna cost me 1 to 3 qts an oil change its not worth it. Thier are still good oils out thier that arent synthetic. Why do they say you cant switch back? jw. Thanks for the input.
