So have an oil consumption issue been to a few different dealers a few oil tests replaced PCV valve and no luck. Did deal with Henson Dodge in Madisonville and had the best luck out of all. Out of warranty unfortunatly but the way it was going id rather just rebuild the thing now and maybe slide in a bigger cam Smiler thats for later on tho! Anyways I read on here along time ago someone had trouble with oil consumption and they were using Mobil 1. They switched to either royal purple or amsoil and it stopped using oil. Do any all yall think that could actually make a difference. I have herd different weights depending on your conditions make a difference but I didnt think the brand. Anyways ive been considering royal purple or amsoil for awhile want to do some more research tho and kind of get away from mobil 1. Just wanted to see if anyone else has heard of this. Thanks yall!

Yes, yes it can!
The next time u do an oil/filter change, let it settle, then read dip stick. U know u have put the correct amount of oil in, does the dip stick show full correctly? Improperly reading dip sticks, do happen from the factory. professor

I had a problem in my 04' hemi with burning Mobil 1. I burned about 1 1/2 quarts of oil in 2500 miles. I switched over to Schaeffer 7000 series 5w-30 synthetic blend oil. I still use a WIX filter with it. I am at 4000 miles on the schaeffer oil and have burned a drop and it is still really clean. I am going to 9000 series full synthetic at the next oil change. Schaeffer is on the same quality level as Amsoil, or really close to it, but hard to come by.

I have heard some bad things about RP and Mobil 1 has lost quality but not price. I would go with Amsoil if you want good oil.

Lol, I want amsoil but schaeffer oil is easy for me to get. I know some don't like it and some love it, but that's just like everything else.

Schaeffer oil is a excellent product. I used to sell it to farmers years ago. Their moly bonds to the cylinder, giving extra protection.

Many people have reported excessive oil consumption running Mobil 1 5W-30 in many different applications. Not sure what it is about that particular oil of theirs but it is not an unheard of situation. Doesn't mean in your case that is what is going on but you could try an oil change or two of another rband to see.

Royal Purple, Schaeffers, or even Amsoil would be good choices.

Thats exactly how I did it, and once I am sure nothing is wrong I will switch to the extended interval oil change with amsoil.
