What fluid weight is recommended for my truck with 3.92 gears, 4X4, and limited slip diffs? How much is needed for the front and rear? What brand would be recommended RP, Amsoil, or Lucas. Also, do I need an additive for the LSD, and what RTV sealant would be best for the Diff cover? Thanks.

Dont forget the side notes. Most Limited Slip applications for Dodge say to add the friction modifier. Just FYI

AMSOIL's diff fluid already has it in it. Some people require a little more, but I haven't run into a Dodge that needed extra yet.

After I added my PML cover, it took four quarts of Mobil 1 75w-140 and seven ounces of friction modifier to make it run out the fill hole.

and now your pinion seal is going to leak, DO NOT FILL TO THE FILL HOLE!!! it must be about 2" down from the fill hole, there is a TSB on improper fluid level in the differential, any 75-140 and adding friction modifier will do, or you can get a synthetic like mobil, or ROYAL PURP, amsoil that already have it in it.

After installing my Maghytec, I put in 4 pts of the Amsoil Severe Gear 75W140. It may be my imagination, but the rear end is not as noisy. Now I have Amsoil in all mechanical components of the truck. I think the thickness of the Maghytec may be reducing the sound. I already had the Amsoil in the differential, so I know that is not it.

I remember Dodge saying not to fill it to the plug.
If you use your pinky finger and place it in the whole to the first knuckle and down.... if the fluid touches the end of your pinky it's perfect.
