I don't know if my problem is related to some of the other posts here or not.
I'm getting cold air on the driver's side and warm air on the passenger side of my 03 Quad cab. If I turn the temp to hot, I get hot on the driver's side and cold on the passenger. The 2 sides work the opposite of each other.
Every once in a awhile, the A/C system works correctly but that is rare now.
Is this a recirc door problem or is there a blend door that seperates driver and passenger into two different cooling zones?
Thanks for your help.

Fireboat, this could be a few different things, all of which will require removing the dash, which is NOT GOOD unless you've got an extended warranty (trust me). There's a monumental amount of labor involved in a dash rip-out. My problems started when the passenger side stopped blowing cold. After a few days, neither side was cold. The first shop said the evaporator was DOA, and then the dealership confirmed it. Your problem could be as simple as a stuck blend door, or the blend door actuator could have died or come unplugged (highly unlikely, given the wire connector design...see thread link above). The most expensive possibility is that you're losing coolant through a slow leak somewhere. It could be anywhere in the system, but I'll bet it's the evaporator. The part will run you around $90-$100, but the labor to install it...staggering. A local A/C shop wanted just under a grand for the job, and the dealership quoted...you ready?...$1700...it's all labor. It took me about a day and a half to figure out how the dash substructure attached to the truck cab and tear the sucker out, since the '03 owner's manual doesn't have any removal instructions or schematics. Reinstalling it only took an afternoon. Obviously, one of the experienced techs at the dealership wouldn't take nearly as long, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg to have him do it. Of course, if you opted for the extended warranty, you're good to go. In a flash of brilliance, I listened to my wife and declined it. It has already cost me roughly double the warranty price. cry

do you mean the AC on temperature on cold you get cold air on driver side and warm on passenger and AC on temperature on hot you get warm on driver side and hot on passenger?
if that's the case take a look in the engine compartment and see if the AC pipe that goes in to the evaporator gets frost, (frozen white) with the air humidity. if it does you just have a low charge system, get a recharge kit and put some in there, not much, if you take it to the dealer they will say the charge is good, and it is, by they're standards but in reality if it's not at the max recommended pressure that's what appends.
This happened with my 2004 i was told the problem was the blend doors, i took my dash apart to replace the recalculations door and took a pick inside the box and i could tell the doors were working fine.

take a look in the pressure diagnostics
I hope for you is just that
