Sometimes when I put the heater on it doesn't heat till I play with it for a while. I have to keep turning the temp. knob from cold to hot a couple of time then it starts to work. And the same with control for it to blow to my feet or on top or defrost. Any idea why this is happening.

I have the same problem even when the temp is hot it won't blow hot air and after playing with the fan switch from fast to slow etc I hear a clunck sound and then there is hot air.

The selector for the defrost ect is also intermittend with mine.

On the dodgetalk forum they have a "how to" forum so you can see how to take it apart.

I think that my internal flappers? I don't know how to call them otherwise are broken or just slipping on the rod.

I have heard that this problem is notorious with the 2003 version and dodge fixed it on the later versions of the dodge.

For some wierd reason they never did a recall on it.

To get the problem fixed you need to take out the whole heater from underneath the dash.
so in my eyes a spring job since it will take 6-8 hours to take it out and fix it.

The stealership will charge u a bunch of money for it. There for I am going to do it my self.
