I noticed on my 03 that i've had since January that alot of the time if i engage the A/C there is a noticeable thunk from the right side of the truck. Like someone smacks my tire with a hammer. But since it seems to work i havent really worried about it.

I did notice that in a RC truck with only 45k on it i thought the a/c would blow colder. I tried it on both modes.. and actually it seemed like the normal outside-in mode was cooler. But overall only felt like about 50-60deg air coming from the vents.
I hate to go messing with refilling it myself as i recently blew the pop-off on my g/f's Jeep compressor doing this. But if this works on our trucks i'd try it once.

Thanks for the help

Anybody has any ideas of what is causing this odd "clunk" noise every time I turn on the A/C?
Please help!

I tried to locate the source of the "clunk" from the exterior with the hood opened and I can say that is barely noticeable. It seems to be coming out from the A/C accumulator. Now, I've been reading the Service Manual and talk about a slugging noise coming out from the condenser... What's a slugging noise like???
Please help!!! Confused

Boy, I wish somebody from the forum could help me out with this issue... While trying to get rid of the condenser slugging noise and noticing that cooling capabilities had decreased significantly, I opted to have the system recharged. This solved the issue for a couple of months...
But again the thunk reappeared and A/C system lost all cooling...
Last week I took my truck to an A/C reapir shop and found a refrigerant leak coming from the evaporator area, so the mechanic told me in order to get the A/C fixed requires the evaporator to be replaced along with the accumulator... come on... mi truck barely has 50K miles... how would and evaporator get damaged so soon? It's there a way that a a faulty fitting at the evaporator could be causing this leak?
Please I need ideas... Confused
Cheers!
