My AC has not been working well for a year now. I had it charged up with no benefit. I get some cool air coming out of the driver side and warm air on the passenger side. I also have a groaning sound coming from under the hood when the AC is turned on. That noise is intermitent while its on and nonexistent while its off. This leads me to think that either the compressor or the compressor clutch is bad. How do you tell if its the compressor or the clutch and does any of this have any effect on the cool / warm air inside the cab.

my 03 was doing kind of the same thing it turned out to be the condenser fan was seasing up i just put a auxsilary fan and blows colder than ever. might try that

take a picture of the clutch and post it to see if there is any discoloration.
