How hard is it to change out the clutch bearing on the compressor? My '05 is engaging, and then disengaging (when idling), and only blowing warm air. When truck is moving, with higher RPM, the air blows ice cold. Tried to recharge it last night, and it would not take the charge.

Thanks!

Mike

It does not sound like it is the compressor... I would see if the might be something blocking one of the lines!!

With the A/C set on high, and coldest setting, all 4 doors open, idling it gets cold at first, then starts blowing hot air. Once the doors are closed, and even with windows open driving down the road, it gets ice cold, like it should. The compressor will come on, and then shut off after 10 seconds while idling. Not sure if that is normal or not, but last time I had a vehicle do that, the compressor seized, and shredded the belt, and the mechanic told me if I had replaced the compressor clutch bearing, that may have saved the belt, and seizing the compressor.

RDSETGO, thanks for the help though! I am open to suggestions as to what else it may be.

Thanks again,

Mike
