Putting a set of pacesetter LT's and 3" ORY on tonight after work. Truck is a 05' 2wdr 1500, any issues I need to know about in advance? Or anything I need to watch out for?

nothing special to it. take off the wheels, then the wheel well liners, and the headers are right there. don't rush it and take your time, really a straight forward install. thumb2 goodluck

Well I am pretty sure it is straight forward, but there is always those unexpected little things that like to pop up every now and then.

Like I am fairly sure on the 03's 4x4 there is a tap on the trans that needs to be cut off for them to fit correctly.

if your rear o2 sensors don't reach, see if there is some slack in the wire. sometimes the factory tied/zipped tied/or taped up by the tranny. that would save you from having to cut and extend them using electrical wire.

or you could do what some others have done, just keep them hooked up but don't actually put them in the bung. then you will for sure not get any codes on the cats' efficiency. just remember to plug up the bung and not leave it open...

Well got the new headers on just in time for the AZ gtg Saturday. Ran into a few issues mainly on the passenger side. The front O2 sensor did not fit on the passenger header, it would have put the top of the sensor through my floor board with the way the O2 bung was installed so we ground down the front O2 bung about a 1/4" and put a decent dent in the heat sheild under the passender floor board. Had to trim a trans mount (the one that just sits there doing nothing). There was a front alignment spacer that was digging into the passenger header after it was on the ground, couldn't figure out what this grinding noise was when turning til one of the guys on another forum pointed it out on one of my pics. A quick cut with the dremel and the grinding issue went away. Also had to fix a few leaks in the 3" ORY, some of the fittings did not seal right when we put on the clamps that came with the kit. Mostly it was on the 90* elbow coming off the drivers side header, for one reason or another it just did not want to seat right.

Right now there are no cats and no rear O2's, this will be changed though hopefully this upcoming weekend and we will be putting the cats and rear O2s back on along with a wideband. The smell is getting to me with the cats off. I park the truck in the garage at night and it makes it pretty much impossible to do any work out there until the garage airs out.

All and all though I like them. They really woke up the Borla XR-1 I had on there, gives it a nice rumble at idle and screams when you get on it. It does not feel quite right though at WOT or heavy throttle and I assume it is because I am running to lean. ONce I get my wideband on I will be able to adjust somethings to hopefully get it running at its peak again.

Oh I noticed a difference the first time I really got on it. Performnce wise I am happy with what it is doing right now.

The sound though is almost to loud in the cab and extremely loud outside so being able to really get on it without drawing attention is a little hard. When it was running through the stock setup with the cats in place running back to that XR-1 the note was about right, just a little to quiet still but not bad at WOT, now though, it is much louder, and has a tone that Im not necessarily disliking but not to fond of at the same time at WOT and part throttle. At WOT it has more of a raspy tone to it and at part throttle it reminds me of the cutout I had on it a while back.

Also the smell without the cats is not good specially when I park it in the garage.

I am hoping when I get the cats back on that it will mellow it out or take the edge off just enough so I can really enjoy it.

the cat delete gives it that raspy sound. I too didn't like the raspyness in my exhaust note, but now I'm used to it. Smiler

I really hope it gets rid of the raspy sound to it, its just really annoying right now and not the tone I am looking for. Im close to ordering an Aero AR30 resonator to stick on it to drop it a few decibles and clean up the exhaust note

It will. My buddy just did the same setup a couple months back and said the same thing, too loud, too raspy! He put cats on it(high flows) and it was amazing how it took the raspiness completely out but yet lowered the noise to a level where it is completely tolerable(even with the loud muffler he has). Keep your head up

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. I mean for now until I can put the cats back on, cranking the radio up gets rid of the noise from outside but still, when the wife is in the truck she doesn;t like the radio turned way up
