So if I ran some cutouts befor the cats on my 08 my CEL will come on, thats a no brainer. The question is with the CEL on does the ECU change any of the spark/fuel maping? Or does it not effect anything? Just wondering because if I ran cut outs for more performance but the computer went into a "limp home" mode or the like then that would kinda make the cutouts point less.

As long as you have your front O2 sensors installed then you should be ok. If you ran with the cut outs open you probably wouldn't throw a code. The only code you would throw would be the one saying your cats or bad but I don't think it would throw the code since you have less flow going through the cat.

i think it will be okay since the front o2s do most of the fuel adjustments, if im not mistaken, i wanted my cutout installed before my cat but i think there was a language barrier and it got installed after the cat Big Grin

I am running dual cutouts with NO cats. So my cutouts are where my cats used to be. As long as your cutouts are after the front O2 sensors, there will be no problems.

Check this picture out, the hole between the stock manifolds and the cats is wherer you will find the front 02 sensors.

Gosh the stock manifolds look even more restrictive once you have them laying there like in your picture lol.

They are the worst manifolds I have ever seen. The stock manifolds on my 59 pontiac looked better than those.
