So I took one very long 14 hour day and installed my Pacesetter LTs, Magnaflow high flow cats and Off road Y-Pipe.
It would've been a lot faster except I refused to cut out the old pipes, being a 4x4 creates extra headaches, 1 manifold bolt was screwed, and I had to clean the garage!
That screwed up bolt had me sweating but it came out after about 45 minutes of aggravation. I've never had a truck with headers. What a sound!
Anyway I took a few pictures and I have some pointers for anyone else that takes this on in the future. First off, start with a clean shop!

I found out that in order to get the old exhaust out and the new exhaust in, you'll want to remove the transmission crossmember. Before you do this, put a jack stand under the rear of the transmission to stop it from dropping down.

I also undid the front drive shaft from the front end and let it hang down in order to give me some extra space to work. It was only 4 bolts and well worth the time. The manifold shields are held on the top of the studs with a crowned nut. I got them all off with some patience and the last one came after 45 minutes with the cut off saw while laying underneath it. My coveralls have a million little holes but thats what they're for right?
it was the one on the lower back of this shield

I had to extend one of the O2 sensors because the wires were too short. I ordered O2 simms but they didn't come in yet. Lucky me, I've put just under 1000 km on the truck and not one code.
I found out that the back and the front O2 sensors are different so don't mix them up!

When sliding in the passenger side, I found that I had to trim off a piece that was bolted to the upper A arm in order to get the header to slide in to place

I didn't get a picture of the piece that I had to trim from the passenger side but here is one on the drivers side. Note that the there are four of these but I only trimmed the back passenger side one.

I also had a problem where the passenger side header was hitting the side of the transmission. Specifically a metal plate (gasket?) that is between the transmission and the engine. I trimmed it back with the cut off saw. This helped a bit but the header is still touching against the transmission now. I left it that way. I'm contemplating trimming the transmission a bit with the cut off saw as this part of the transmission doesn't look necessary for the Ram. Sorry, no picture of the part I trimmed but if you look up from under the truck on the passenger side of the transmission, you'll see what I'm talking about.

It seems that all the probs were with the passenger side. I checked the headers against the gasket but for some reason I missed that the last hole wasn't lined up. So until I get a the right attachment for my dremel tool, it will not get a bolt. No leaks yet!

The driver's side was a piece of cake after the passenger side. No problems at all. After I installed the cats and the O2 sensors, I slid under the truck with a sharpie and measuring tape and marked the pipes for the Y-pipe. The all need trimming because I went with the catalytic converters. there is nothing in the cats to stop you from sliding the Y pipe in too far so take measurements!
There is just enough room in there (remember 4X4) so take your time. The only real problem I had here was that I had band clamps and found that they don't hold worth a crap! I wasted an hour trying to get them to work before driving to Canadian tire for standard clamps. In the end I had to drive to the muffler shop because I needed a 3 foot piece fabbed up to connect the ORY-Pipe to my Magnaflow exhaust. That cost me about $50. Much cheaper than getting the shop to do the whole job eh?

Well, here they are installed. I left the liners out for the first 750 km so I could check the bolts. I used the stage 8 so nothing moved and nothing appeared loose due to any seating issues. No leaks neither. Smiler
So looking at my time of roughly 14 hours. Had I not had that stuck manifold bolt and need for replacement clamps and if I hadn't installed my wideband at the same time AND if I'd gotten some help, this could've been done in under 10 hours I'm sure.
BTW, for anyone looking to do this, I found the thread "PACESETTER INSTALL TIPS!!!" by 05AngelofDeath very helpful in getting me ready and on my way.

thumb2 i have the same exact setup as you do. i had to trim an ear off of the transmission housing as well, i didnt do it at first because the header wasnt touching it but after a few drive cycles and after retightening the bolts, the ear began to etch into the ceramic coating. a quick zip with the sawzall was all it took.
