I think I would go with Pacesetters with the hi-heat coating or the OBX, but
1.) Can't find OBX for 05 4x4
2.) Pacesetters are a bigger diameter header.
But the y-pipe with the pacesetters doesn't come with cats, so the 02's are what I am wondering about with this.

So has anyone ran this setup with the manual sims and been successful? Or do you have to do the electronic sim? If I could do the pacesetters with a set of manual sims and be good, then it is a no brainer for me. Any thoughts appreciated.

i have pacesetters on my 05 4x4, you need to cut the pacesetter y pipe to allow the cats to fit, i have mechanical sims for the rear o2's that just go into the rear bung on the cats (magnaflow hi flow cats) that move the sensor out of the exhaust stream a bit, no codes.

So you did pacesetter long tubes, then attached the magnaflow hi-flos to those, and then ran the y off the magnaflows? Is that what I am getting from that? Then mechanical sims on the post cat 02's.

Where did you get your magnaflows? Part number? Did you mount them right off the headers, or did they weld in? I would really rather just do a y after the headers. I wonder if that would work with the mech. sims and not throw a code..... Do you have to weld right off the Pacesetters? Just wondering if you do a y and it throws a code how hard it would be to put cats in afterwards....

i got the cats from Moes here
my entire exhaust is slip fit and clamped, no leaks either Big Grin
the cats are clamped right on to the collectors
if you didnt do the cats at first and got a code and couldnt get rid of it with some kind of sim, you would just have to cut the length of the cats from the y pipe and put the cats in thumb2

Sweet. That is great info....I noticed those cats have pre and post 02 bungs. Did you plug the precat sensor? Don't the headers come with the precat also?

yep, the cats have 2 bungs, also come with 2 bung plugs. the first bung on each cat is plugged since there is also a bung in the header collector for the precat sensor. beer

so what are those? 02 sensor bung caps and then you just drilled them out to make mechanical sims? so there is a male and female threading on them?
