So I just spent the last hour reading through all of these posts and now that I have a massive headache I got a question or two. Right now my exhaust system goes stock manifold => stock cats => stock Y pipe => 3" DMH e-cutout => 3" single in/ dual 2.25" (or 2.5" out, cant remember off the top of my head) out Borla Catback. Since I was just under there this past weekend install the cutout I was checking things out and I want to install a set of headers next.

I need something that is going to end up costing right around $500, is a simple install, and will last. Im not nessesarily looking for a system with the best gains I just need something that is going to let things flow better than the stock setup to help out the cam that will be getting installed sometime this summer. Any ideas that can help point me in the right direction would be great.

If your not comfortable with the welding, the edelbrock shorties, ceramic coated work real nice for me, and they are a complete bolt on installation.

I had mid length headers at first and after doing a cam, I switched out to long tubes. Helped the truck breathe a lot better. I think you can find long tubes for around that price. Pacesetters and Heddmans are priced around that range. But keep in mind that long tubes will require you to move your cats back some to allow room for the header collectors. You will also need to extend the wires for the rear o2 sensors.
