Which brand headers will perform the best? I was also thinking about getting them jet-hot coated, does anyone have any opinions about this?

Edit: Well I am pretty set on buying the dynojet supermax headers and y pipe and getting them jet hot coated. Just the headers are going to be coated because if I ever put a cam in I will go to a true dual exhaust but going to leave my setup how it is. No sense in spending money on getting them coated and then later cutting them off. I will also get the mopar gaskets and stage 8 bolts.

Dynomax would be number 1 choice if money wasn't a factor. Then I think the next in line would be Pacesetters and Heddman's. These are all great headers and you won't be disappointed by the performance gains. Wink

Yeah its probally going to be close to $2,000 after the headers cats y pipe, coating, bolts, and gaskets. After that I am going to get a A/F gauge and eventually some programmer. Should I install the A/F gauge before or after the install o fthe headers. I know it has to go into the new system, but didnt know i fit would be easier before it was connected to the truck.

I dont plan on it but the kooks look good. But never hear anyone putting them on.

I would install the a/f gauge when you are installing the headers. If you do it before the header install then you will either have to weld in the bung for the a/f sensor into the stock exhaust system then have to weld in another bung when the new headers are installed. If you do it after the header install then you will have to take it back to the muffler shop (assuming you are getting it all welded up) and have them install a bung for the a/f gauge sensor. BUT if you do it while you are doing the header install you can but the gauge in the truck then wire it all up and take it up to the muffler shop and have them weld in the bung. Once they got the bung welded in then you can just screw in the sensor and you are good to go. Remember that the sensor has to be at a 90 degree angle or higher, this will keep the condensation off the sensor. and you will also want to get it as close the the header collector as possible. By the collector I mean where all the primary's meet. Hope that makes sense.

Oh yeah, I have heard people rave about the Kook's over at Dodge Talk. SO those are pretty good to.

I have Dynatech Supermaxx headers, high flow cats, and crossover on my 05 Ram and really like them. Only problem is the cats will throw a CEL.

I memeber posted on here before and said after he installed his he took it to the dealer since it was a mopar product, and reflashed his computer and replaced the o2 sensors and it fixed the problem. I know you can buy the headers from the dealership but not sure about th ewhole system if you can then they should have a fix for it. If not ill have to get 02 sims.

The hedmans are working great for me! i didnt use the reducer that came with it, i just had a 3"0RY welded up right to the headers instead, to move my power band to the mid to upper RPMs instead of keeping it to the low end which the 2.5" reducer would have done.

I have a quad cab and pull a trailer almost every day. But that is a good idea to keep the power in the high end.
