Bought an 08 Ram a few months back (love the truck so far), but have been having issues with the rotors. When I test drove the truck, it shuddering pretty bad. I got them to fix it, then bought the truck. All was well...for 1000 miles, then the rotors were warped again. I don't brake hard, nor do I ride other people's bumpers...so it's not my driving. Took it back for them to fix and told them I want NEW rotors, not have them turned again. Apparenlty turning didn't work last time. They said ok. Well, they called later to tell me truck was done and guess what...they turned the freakin' rotors! I gave them much grief for a while, then told them I would see them in another 1000 miles. Their "service manager" said that the rotors were still within specs to be turned, so that's why they did it. BTW, when I bought the truck it had 24k miles.

I'm not a rotor expert, but wouldn't turning the same rotor that keeps warping make it even weaker? I've only been a few hundred miles since the 2nd turning and it's shuddering again. My question is...are the rotor probably just bad or are there other problems? They supposedly checked out the braking system and all was good. Guess it could have just been a bad set of rotors, or all factory rotors just suck? Well, since they were supposed to fix this, I am gonna get them to replace the rotors with new ones, but after that I'm doing aftermarket. Anyone else have stock rotors to warp this quick???

yup... i would say most of us have had premature brake issues. Some have had good luck with the dealer replacing them once or twice... but the rotors are our of warranty at 36K.. I did the napa HP rotors all the way around, $400 investment (at the time), but have not had one single issue since, and i am at 98K miles on an 06 now.
