Ok guys, i know how to replace brakes... but when something goes wrong with them. Im clueless... I replaced my front rotors and put duralast cmax pads back in Jan. about two weeks later i replaced the rear rotors and pad with just the basic stuff. My problem came up a couple days ago. I have a clunk coming from the front left it sounds like. started out when i was applying brake and slightly turning to the right it would do it around 40ish... then it did it once while i was accelerating normally. Two days later (Wed) i was driving down the highway at 55 with the cruise set and then i felt the cruise shut off and the ABS/Brake light came on. the brakes still work like they should, firm pressure and stop like normal, just the lights are on and that noise from the front... its not a loud clunk but if you have the radio off and when braking you can hear it... My buddy thinks it is a wheel bearing. but since its a 2wd, isnt it a hub assembly instead? I had one go out on my 2000 and you could shake the front tire side to side and had no brakes. neither happen in this situation, tire doesnt move like its suppose to and i have normal brake operation. I pulled the battery cable off and when i go to start the truck they stay on for a second and then they flash very quickly off and then back on. Did the reset of the computer with the gas pedal, and it did the same flash. Sorry for this being a long one but just thought to let you know all the things I tried to better help.. Any ideas of why? thanks in advance...

They are hubs and it is the same one as the 4x4.

i talked to a parts person at a dealership and he said the rear sensor in the differential is why both my lights are on and it could possibly be my brakes making the grinding noise that is coming from the front wheel now... Im just hoping its not the hub assembly cuz thats 266 plus tax..

ok guys... as of wednesday i figured out what it was... my hub assembly completely lost the bearing. and the day before it came in, the wheel jerked to the left and then the front slammed on the ground. the wheel/tire, half the hub, brake rotor, caliper all came off the truck and bounced beside me as i slide to a hault. the spindle where the hub bolts to it snapped and ripped the brake line out and as it slid; the lower ball joint got shaved flat... I called it into the insurance and they are gonna check it out and see how to fix it...
Now for the bad news... Im gonna have to trade the truck in and get a civic for the wife since the truck is our only vehicle currently. I need something I know wont break down when im deployed. specially having a kid as well. Maybe when I get back I will be able to pick another one up, I did get this one for 10 so... just thought to let everyone know whats up...

it ended up costing 3g for everything. 1250 just for the mechanical part of it. but looking to get an 09 altima now. all the lots really like my truck just, they have to do the business part of it... lol you guys been great!!! ill let you know if I get another one, and im gonna try to!!
