When braking my truck bounces up and down.
When applied harder it stops.
I know its the rear rotors that are warped.
My question is should I just go out and get a standard rotors and pads or should I get something different?
I just did the fronts 5K ago.
Thanks for the help

I just put Napa High Performance rotors and EBC Green Stuff pads on all 4 and they are great. I wouldn't go for stock rotors since they have a better chance of warping again.

Bouncing up and down indicates bad shocks, not bad brakes. Warped rotors will give you a pulsating feeling in the brake pedal, and increase your stopping distance.

So what have we learned in 2 millennia?

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."
- Cicero - 55 B.C.

Apparently, nothing......

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young,
compassionate with the aged,
sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
Because someday in life you will have been all of these."

I like the best non-slotted rotor you can get made by Car Quest. They are relatively inexpensive and I haven't had any problems with them yet. Can't say how much worse or better than Napa they are but I definitely would not go with a slotted or drilled rotor. They are made for racing and really hot situations and they will chew your pads up like crazy and I have also seen them crack at the drilling points.

I have had Power-Slot rotors with Hawk pads on my truck for the last year now & love them. The nice thing is the Power-Slots were only slightly more expensive than the stock replacements but 10X better quality (thicker rotor plates & twice the number of support/cooling veins to help resist warping)! And, the nice thing about the slotted rotors is that the slotts help to evacuate the gases that build up between the rotor and friction material of the pad, in turn helping to cool the pads which helps extend their life slightly and prevent brake fade under hard braking conditions. The slots also help to evacuate any water from between as well. I agree though, I would stay away from the cross-drilled.

Now, if I can just find someone to turn my slotted rotors before putting on my new front pads I will be golden! Anyone had slotted rotors turned before??

Mo, if my memory serves when I had slotted/drilled rotors on my Prelude (few years back) I was told that they could be turned by anyone who could turn non-slotted/drilled rotors.
