As the title states I was just wondering if warped rotors are covered under the 7/70 factory warranty. Truck just turned 20000 miles. I'm fairly easy on it especially the brakes but i figured they'd last a bit longer than this. Noticed it yesterday when when going 65 downhill the shudder was real bad. I've felt a slight shudder at times before this but only minor. I'd just like to know if it's covered or if anyone else has had brake rotors go at 20k or less. I put almost 65000 miles on my old bomber chevy one ton and the brakes are still good. Confused

ive never heard of brakes being covered under warranty. That just cant be justified at all because everyone drives different and its ultimately the driver that wears the brakes. If you had a mechanical problem caused by the vehicle itself then maybe but that would have to be proven. I know alot question the stock brakes on the hemi trucks, but they do quite well considering other vehicles. I work on land rovers all day long and 20 thousand miles on front brakes is VERY GOOD. On our supercharged cars ive done brakes as early as 15k here in austin.

I might be mistaken, but I believe brakes (rotors & pads) are covered up to 12,000 miles... after that you're on your own Frowner

I just thought 20k easy miles was a little soon for brakes but i guess it's a common problem. I've been around chevy trucks since i was a youngin(my dad always had a new one every 3-4 years) and never had brake issues till around 50 or 60k. My last truck i drove for 65k in 5 years and never had a brake issue. Now both the jeep and the truck need front brakes cry
I thought i'd check with the warranty thing just in case

that's exactly right. I had a shudder on mine at around 15K, and was told the same thing by my dealership (that i trust). ended up doing the Napa perfomance rotors and have been extremely satisfied with them. got almost 60K on them now, and still doing great. thumb2
