Hello!

When I try to burnout with my 1500-06, I have to step really hard on the brake to have it standing still. Since I have to brake so hard, the rear tires won´t brake loose. I have Afe cai,SC 3815 with performace setting so I think the power should be enough.
My front rotors are warped and I have some aftermarket pads (unknown brand),can this affect so I have to brake so hard for it to stand still?

If I should change the pads, are the standard Dodge brakepads good or should I try to find a different brand?.

I live in Sweden and we don´t have so many brands here..

I will get my rotors machined this weekend (I hope..) and are thinking of buying new pads also.
Is it normal to have to step hard on the brake to have it standing still while trying to burn some rubber?

All inputs are welcomme!!!

My 03 doesn't take much brake pressure to hold and the rears will light up in barely 1 to 2 seconds with no brake needed from there to put on a great show. This is with 3.92 gears, 305 20s and a truck that is truly bone stock except for a 40 series flowmaster. I am more familiar with older vehicles, but we should have a brake proportioning valve that gives bias to the front brakes and that, I believe is why you should not need a lot of pressure. Also, maybe your program is not right. The guys on this site will probably tell you no brake needed with a programmer. Good Luck, fast truck.

Mattias,

I have the same problem with mine. It takes a bit of practice and just the right amount of brake pressure to break the back tires loose (athough I might have a little more traction with 35" mud tires). I'm sure upgrading the front brakes will help. The stock brakes are a weak point which I can attest to with the lift and larger tires. Check out http://www.tirerack.com/ for information and comparisons on brake pads.

That's cool you have a Ram in Sweden. I bet you get a lot of looks driving that around. I have a Saab 900S Conv that I drive for a commuter. Love that car!

It takes some getting used to when doing burnouts, too much pressure nothing happens, too little and it moves. Practice makes perfect Smiler, even though practicing on 22's could get expensive with tires, lol. If you are getting the rotors machined I would recommend getting new pads or at least sand them down some on a flat surface. If you can get ceramic pads go with those to keep the brake dust to a minimum and braking temperatures lower.
