Everyone,

I have upgraded to a new heavier camper and it got me to thinking that I should invest in some cheap insurance.

I installed a transmission cooler on my blazer, but not a guage.

Questions I have are as follows:

1) What tranny cooler would be best?
2) Which line is coming from the tranny and which is going to the tranny?
3) Do they make a fitting kit so that I don't have to cut lines?
4) Can a Tee the line while I am installing the cooler so that I can put my sender in for my tranny gague?

Thanks! Jeff

It probably does have a transcooler but bigger is always better. I believe you would have to install the gauge at the tranny for the correct reading. You get get yourself a PML trans pan which will also help and have it tapped for the gauge for free. Duane has them here on his site. I buy EVERYTHING from him and he is a member and sponsor here.

I have an 08 1500 Hemi truck with a tow package. Does anyone know if that package comes with a tranny cooler and is it enough? I am pulling a 28 ft 5th wheel - do I need a guage?

The "Trailer Tow Group" consists of a 700 amp battery, Class IV hitch, and 7 pin harness. I remember on my '03 there was a 4th radiator which I believe was for the tranny.

Wouldn't hurt to do a couple of things here... get yourselve a PML tranny cover (deeper pan which provides more fluid capacity); use synthetic tranny fluid; and install a tranny temp gauge. The PML pan can be ordered with the sensor hole already drilled and tapped.
