i have and 05 quad cab hemi, It's my baby now i have a small problem i have a supercharger kit for it i got the kit about a year ago and have not installed it for one simple reason,i feel that the tranny will not be able to hold up to the power. The kit i have is the big boost version which push about 9 psi. I was woundering if the sharadon stage II valve body and 2800 or 3000 stall as well as some raybestos High-Energy heavy duty clutch sets, and a deeper pan would be enought to keep me from blown the tranny. I was also woundering if the stock tranny would be able to hold up to the supercharger for any period of time.
Thank i appreciate any help

It would hold it for a while if you are cautious. You will have to stay out of 4th gear while going WOT and also stay away from downshifting in WOT. Meaning you can't stomp on it when you are traveling higher than 40 mph

when you are referring to WOT downshifting, are you talking about keeping it from shifting into 2nd prime? if that's what you're getting at, i believe superchips has a fix out there to raise the 2nd prime downshift speed to 70mph, so the tranny won't downshift into 2nd prime anywhere below that speed.

The stock trans will hold 10 psi for a couple of months.....You could get 20 runs down the 1/4 mile before the overdrive clutches fail....and shortly after you'll lose 3rd gear as well.

You're on the right track with Sharadon, but go for their stage three trans!

...Then after you've done the trans and converter.....yank the motor out, and replace everything with forged and billet parts because it won't be long before the rings wear out, or break pistons from overstress/fatigue.........even with a good tune

Sharadon has developed A hybrid transmission using Cummins internals in the 545rfe case, they are calling it the 58rfe trans and from what they say, its the last trans anyone with a street driven truck will ever need. It is standing up well to their turbo NOS truck and should be available to everyone by now. Give them a call as I have not seen the trans on their web site yet.
