I left home and had to make a stop before going to work. Got back in the truck and dropped it into reverse and it acted like it was still in park; revved up and didn't move. I put it in neutral then back into reverse and everything was fine. After work it did just fine too. First time I've ever seen it happen. Glitch or is something possibly going on? It's 1:30am so I haven't had a chance to check anything yet. I wasn't about to check it at work just because of the ridicule I would receive plus it didn't have me too worried but I thought I would throw it out there to see what others think. thanks

Could be just a glitch... but I would start with checking your tranny fluid level. Also, how long has it been since the tranny fluid was changed?

Mine will do the same thing about twice a year. I see no ill effects from it. When it happens, just leave it in reverse, it will move after a few seconds.

hide With 58K on the ticker, I've never changed it. It's on the to do list. Wink The last time I checked the level it was fine and I haven't noticed any leaks either.

In a way I'm kinda glad to see it has happened to someone else and that no issues have resulted from it.

So when my truck is cold I put in reverse and nothing it just revs up, after about 3-5 sec it will start to move and be just fine

BUT if when cold I put in Drive first and sit for 2 sec then into reverse it works fine

Fluid is fine, it was changed at 45,000 and has 70,000 now but it has done this since I got it with 12,000 fluid change did nothing

I have seen others with same issue....I think i even saw a TSB on some pump in the trany....I will see if I can find it
