I noticed these when I was doing my exhaust a while back. I don't remember how many there are but I have these big dumbell lookin weights under my truck. At least one on each side. Anyone know what they are for?

I believe they are sacrificial metal. They rust so your frame doesn't.


SRT10 undersprung rear axle with 4:56 gears, Mcgaughy's 2" drop spindles and Belltech 2" drop coils, supermaxx longtube headers and hi perf cats, Edge Evolution gauge pack, Fiberglass hood with functional shaker ram air, and Airaid CAI, 180 Jet stat

Heard they did weights on there to cut down on resonant noise in the pannels, thats the myth I heard in reason behind the design.

If they are anti-corrosion items, then they are call Sacrificial Anodes.
An anode attached to a metal object, to inhibit the objects corrosion. The anode is electrolytically decomposed while the object remains free of damage. professor

Already told yall what they are for. For frequency resonance in the sheet metal, works as a dampner in theory. Does it work, who knows.

What they are is 30 lbs. of fuel robbing weight. I took mine off and noticed no difference of any kind right up to 100 mph.
