I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Easylift helped in lowering the tailgate, or if it just assisted in raising it? I didn't know if it would keep it from slamming down or not? Thanks guys!

The Easylift assists in the closing of the tailgate only... it'll still drop down hard if you let it go
There is another item on the market that assists with the lowering of the tailgate (and can be used in conjunction with the Easylift)... called the "EZDown tailgate assist". "I can now literally open and close the tailgate with one finger!" This was the only sentence that made me wonder if it helped in letting the tailgate down easy.

The Easy Lift helps you in lifting the tailgate back up. The EZ Down helps with lowering the tailgate. Combined, it is almost effortless to open and close your tailgate.

Nope, it don't interfer at all. I have a Firestorm bar on my truck and both of these installed. You may have to adjust it a little bit though...

Not an issue. I've had one on my last two trucks. The only thing you have to watch is if you get your Fire and Ice mounted to high the screws will rub the tailgate.

Got both installed. They work great! Now I got to get them for my truck. I put these on my wifes grandpa's truck. He sure is happy with them. The tailgate was just way to heavy for him. Thanks everyone!
