Well, hopefully another one of our nasty New England winters is over and done with. It seems that no matter what you do, you can never protect the chrome wheels against the severe cold, brake dust and especially the corrosive ROAD SALT that litterally spends months just eating away at any polish, wax or protectant of any kind.

Here's how I clean my chrome wheels. Remember, my truck is an '03 and spent the first 2 years of it's life in Maine then the remaining time with me here in Massachusetts, so she's been exposed to all sorts of neat stuff that does everything it can to rot our trucks away.

Follow my posts and pics:

These first two pics show the front left wheel/tire before I did anything.

This pic show the wheel after I washed it hard with warm water and Dawn dishwashing liquid. The remaining dirt would not budge.

These two pics show after I polished the wheel. I did a quick job (I had to go get my truck inspected) so you can see that I didn't get around the lug nuts at all.

I'll be removing each lug nut one at a time to clean them and the area underneath/around them to detail it out really good.

And here's what I used to clean them up. I've had this Noxon around for years and it still works perfectly.

On a side note, I always use either Fantastic or Formula 409 to clean the white lettering on my tires.

Hope this helps someone else who needs to clean those chrome rims like new again!

I really don't remember where I got the Noxon because I've had it for so many years, but I'm pretty sure you can get it an Wal-Mart, or just about any hardware or even the grocery stores.
