Yes sir. They are taped on. I new a guy in South Carolina who bumbed his during the summer and the thing slid down the door. Get you some nice nerf bars and shim them out 5/8". It takes the nerf bars just past the body molding. Cars will hit your bars instead of your door. Doesn't do much to protect against other trucks. I've had mine on since I bought the truck in March 05 and I do not have any door dings. 2009 1500 Big Horn addition SLT/Laramie, 2009 Challenger R/T |

All those things are held on the same way, I bet: some sort of soft adhesive that becomes brittle after a while. Once that happens, it's just a matter of time before they come off. That said, I plan to get some for my truck. I try to be very careful not to whack another vehicle, but the peace-of-mind is worth the aggravation.

I took mine off so I could have a clean look to the side of the truck....

painted plastic needs a lot of maintenance, especially on a part that gets tire splashed to death.

Did ya'll remove the moldings yet? How did it look? I'm having the same problem, but I'm afraid of removing them do to the fact that they have been on there for 3 yrs.
