Sorry to hear that... Frowner
What goes around comes around - they'll get theirs before too long.
If you can't garage the truck, I'd recommend motion detector spotlights. If you don't have power in the desired area, they make solar powered ones for about $75.

did you call ins comp? i know for a fact that if you take it to the body shop they will not repaint the whole side they will paint just the keyed area its called blending looks good as new and if its not to close to mirror, door handle,or things like that you will never be able to tell that it was repainted, when i look and car for sale you can usaly tell when they wheer repainted (overspray in certsain areas, and paint on edges of doorhandles and etc once you eyes are traned for it you call tell just about all the time) unless they dont paint to close to the door handles and etc,

That really sucks! Mike is right. I've seen some blend jobs that you would not believe. They look perfect and they do not charge very much either. Good luck.

It should be legal to shoot them little fuckers for doing stupid shit like that. And taggers, they are trashing-up the whole city. New hwy projects, new bridges, new buildings or even the side of someones house or fence. They all look like shit because of some little bastards with spray cans. They did the right thing to that kid in Singapore a few years ago. They caned him for doing the sme thing. Guess I got off track there for a few minutes Mad. My custom Silverado got keyed at the shipyard I used to work at. I found out who did it and I won't say any more except that he wished he never did it and it cost him a chunk of change to get it repaired. His whole reason was that he did not like me and he was jealous of my truck. Hey, I hope you can it repaired ok without laying-out too much for the deductable.

Mine was keyed on the tailgate just by some idiots a year back. It made me mad, but I have not fixed it yet. I just havent gone to get it looked at by the body shop yet. I buffed out some of it, but not the majority.

Unfortunately that has been a part of society for many years. I am 68 and have worked claims for 47 or those years. This occurred way back in the early sixties when I started as an adjuster and will continue. Some kids are just not being taught well by their parents, thats where it starts.

I feel your pain man. I hate that some people can have such a lack of respect for other people's things. I got keyed back in '06 and never found out who did it or why. I had the insurance pick up the tab at the shop I took it to. Went in as vandalism, truck got entirely repainted and I only had to pay a $100 deductable. Course rates went up. Roll Eyes

Here is a link to what they did to my truck:
