Is it a good idea to paint door handles, tailgate handle, etc? I was thinking of paint matching the handles on the truck ,but I don't know how well it will hold up. I am figuring the steps would be smooth the handles, degrease, primer, paint, and then clearcoat. Any opinions would be great.

Yeah, I have been looking around on how to do it and looking at pics of trucks w/it done already. They look good just a lot of prep work involved. I think I am going to do at least the tailgate handle tomorrow to see how well I can do it. I just need something to do to mod the truck that doesn't cost a lot of money.

Hey Guys,
I did mine myself I did not sand them all the way down either. They look pretty good in my oppinion they still have a slight textured feel to them. I don't mind though I'm not putting my truck in show's. Just my two cents.

Do you have a closeup picture moparborn? I was thinking of doing them myself,.. but might get them done either professionally or buy color matched ones.

My mods are located on or in my truck,.. I have come to the conclusion they work better there than posted on here.

Here are some links to a couple pictures of the tailgate handle I did as a test subject. It still needs a clearcoat, but other than that it is coming out fairly well. I will put up pics of it on the truck later.

Yes, I did the best I could on the area there. The only thing is I could not wet sand it to well, so it is a little rough. I tried my best to make it look like it was stock.
