Many (many) years ago I worked at a General Motors Assembly Plant in Framingham, MA as an assembler, and during my 5 years there I made dozens of good friends. I always made it a point to learn as much as I could about these people, what interests they had and was often amazed at some of their artistic abilities, the college degrees held (several Masters) and their professional trade licenses held.

Often, while watching the military channel I turn to my son who was a C130 mechanic in the Air Force to ask technical aircraft related questions he would know the answer to. In an effort to feed my curiousity I'd like to know what kinds of MOS's our military members held or currently hold.

Nothing classified please, but remind us of your branch of service, MOS's, what their official title is and weapons/equipment operated.

So what have we learned in 2 millennia?

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."
- Cicero - 55 B.C.

Apparently, nothing......

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young,
compassionate with the aged,
sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
Because someday in life you will have been all of these."

MOS....Mother's Or Sisters? I'll take either one, or both! thumb2
As long as my wife doesn't find out. Big Grin

Coxswain....Ran every type of boat the Navy had.
That's what they had me doing until my sub school was supposed to start. By the time personnel called me up I had changed my mind. At that age running my on boat was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I was an E2 filling an E5 billet and had a crew of rookies. I was an old salt with 6 months in.. Life was good..til they sent me to Nam. I survived.....

Yeoman...pencil pusher. Got assigned to an Admiral Staff when I got back. The guy that was running the old mans boat didn't get orders.. The Flag Secretery called me in and told me I was going to be transfered. Most likely back to Nam. I guess he saw my heart sink. So he ask if I could type. I said "No Sir, but I could learn." He smiled and told me he would give me 30 days. I doubled what I was supposed to be able to do. He let me stay. Big Grin
