So I tinted my tail lights a few weeks ago and of course my reverse/backup lights are useless now. With that and the 5% tint, i cant see anything. I saw somewhere that someone installed a backup light underneath the truck or rear bumper. I'm assuming you could just tap into the regular backup light to do this. Anyone heard of this or done it? Thanks!

We used to wire auxillary lights into the backup lights on trailers, but I've never done it on a truck before. I like the idea though, since I'm planning on getting my taillights painted in the near future too.

If someone figures it out, please post a "how to" thread!

Hmmm... That could def work... Maybe throw it on a hinge and figure out a way that when you turn them on, they swing down on their own... I'm sure the product is out there, just brainstorming before a mission... Smiler

Mods are always on my mind!

You can go to Wal-Mart and buy a cheap set of lights for about $20 and wire them into the back up light wire. The set I bought to light up the engine compartment on my 04 were about 1.5'X3" and would work great. goodluck

Get a set of door lock actuators and mount the ligths on a bar with a hinge. Put a relay on it so that when you hit rev the bar folds down. you could tap into the trailer light harness for relay switch operation.
