Thinking about installing some blue LED lights along the frame facing out so that they illuminate my step bars. I'm thinking I would figure out some way to tie them in with the interior lights so that the LEDs are only on when the doors are open.

Thoughts?

It'll be awhile until that happens... I'm in Iraq right now... Just thinking of mods for my truck so that I have projects to do when I get back...

If you have a Haynes or similar manual, you should be able to find a wiring diagram that should point you in the right direction...

Let me know how it goes and post some pics if you figure it out!

I've been thinking about doing the same with white lights on step bars. this could be a extremely helpful thread. I haven't bought steps yet, but when I do if there's nothing here I'll try to help out. I love wiring stuff!

White lights should look good with your silver Hemi. I already have the step bars, so as soon as I get back I will be working on the lighting project. Being gone for so long has given me WAY too much time to think of projects! I can't wait to get back and finally get to start working on them all. I'll def pay close attention to this thread to see if anyone beats me to the punch...

I couldn't determine which wire at the door connected to a switch that turned on the interior lights when the door was opened. I ran a wire to the overhead console light and connected it to there. This worked very well.

I have had them on now for about three years, I had them put on when I did the amp steps so you could see the steps at night. I went with blue because of the color of my truck, they are tied into my dome lights, what's neat is that you can turn them on with the dome switch in the truck and when they go off they just fade out like the dome light, they really look cool at night and they lite up everything. When we go to the local gtgs on Saturday nights the people really think they are neat, they like them alot.

1. A picture of the lights when off to show how they are mounted.
2. Details of how you ran the wires up to the tie in to the dome light
