I have condensation in my taillights in the backup lamp part. Was thinking of drilling a small hole in the backside to allow it to dry out. Does anyone know if that will work or just make it worse?

It has been my experience that you will have to drill holes to keep it from reoccurring and to dry it out totally. I had the same problem and would disassemble the fixture and dry out over night using a fan. Did this three times before i got tired of messing with it. Once i installed it back on the truck and exposed to the sun it would mist up again. I drilled three holes along at the lowest point. Seems like there is a channel that runs between the three lamp areas that trapped water as well that you need to drill into also to get it to drain. I haven't had the problem since.
