After installing my new bulbs I noticed I was not able to see as well with the newer bulbs, even rated at 7500K. Same for the ones I put in HemiLoredo03 truck, so I did my research and this is what I have decided.

First the Kelvin scale is used to measure color temperature or hue (so more is NOT better or brighter). Midday sunshine is about 5000 Kelvin and about 6500 Kelvin is considered daylight white. The lower the temperature (which is strangely considered warmer) go towards yellow then red. The higher the temperature (which is strangely considered cooler) goes towards blue then violet. The Plasma Blue (7500k) are NOT HID bulbs (or even plasma for that matter) but simply blue tinted halogen bulbs. 7500 Kelvin is extremely blue (especially at night) and should only be used in daylight and is not suited (or legal) for night driving.

So in other words the bigger the number does not always mean brighter. The 5000k Polarg Blue tinted bulb(9006/HB4) is much brigher than my Nokya 7000K Blue tinted bulb(9007/HB5)

That's why I always get the 4300K series when I equip a car or bike with HIDs. The whiter light simulates daylight and I can see better. Thanks for posting thumb2

They list 94-up Rams as taking a 9004 bulb. Is that right? They don't appear to even have that number. Confused
