Truck of the Month March 2005  |
Some of you may know that I've been having issues with my STS Hemi for 2 years or so.
Hemifever (Sean) and I have worked on these issues all the time, but no results that made it satisfactory. The truck always made power at WOT, it had problems with street driving and partial throttle boost. I bought an SCTFlash tuner from Hemifever with his tune in it for my truck. (He knows my truck). It now runs more than terrific to say the least. Took it out yesterday for the maiden trip but it was raining. Could not give it any throttle without blowing the tires away. Took it out today and dang, this truck wants to run. Seems my 04 that was built in Aug/03 has different software in the pcm that just doesn't like the smt-6 tuner and didn't like the sct tuner at first. Sean sent me an SRT4 2.25 BAR map sensor to try and it works perfect, so far. Sean, you da man. Spring is here, time to have some fun for a change. That's great that there is finally something out there to tune our trucks. Think he could help with my super charger? I took it off about a year ago because of drivability issues, (part throttle boost is unbearable) and I would love to get it back on.

Not a problem. You'll need the SCT, 2 bar map sensor and some 50# injectors. The SRT4 Pink injectors work good as well as the blue Ford injectors that are 39# at 40psi. So with your fuel pump it'd be roughly 55#. Sean, can you tune mine as soon as my truck is ready from the shop I told you its at now? They are basically doing everything necessary minus the tuning to get the truck in perfect condition ready for tuning.
2004 Dodge Ram Hemi Sport (flame red),Custom 24x12x4 front mount intercooler, sts turbo, sts electronic boost controller, custom billet fuel rails, 255lph holley fuel pump, XRP racing fuel fittings and hoses, split second map clamp, 39# cobra/bosch injectors, MSD spark plug wires, NGK 4306 spark plugs, autometer boost gauge, autometer EGT gauge, Aeroforce scan gauge, PLX device DM-100 Air/Fuel wideband, Sharadon Performance Stage II Transmission with Stage II Valve Body, PML transmission pan, Edge 3000 Billet Torque Converter, Eibach pro-kit 2/4 drop, Eibach pro damper shocks....... Does anybody know how to install this stuff?!?!  Yes ATF Speed does!!That Hemi got a turbo?!?! 400hp/445 lbs. tq at 7 lbs of boost. |

I agree with you...have the same problems with part throttle applications...this SCT tuning seems to be the fix   2005 RC/SB Daytona #669 Paxton S/C ~ NGK 4306 spark plugs ~ comp cams valve springs ~ 195 * thermo ~ MSD wires ~ dynatech supermaxx header system ~ Flowmaster super 44 ~ Mopar chrome valve covers ~ SRT-10 hood insert ~ custom bedliner ~ fire and ice light bar ~ black/clear corner headlamp housings ~   |

Mine doesn't like it too much either! It was great for WOT, but there are issues with idle, and daily driving. I installed the SCT program Hemifever sent me prior to pulling the motor. Fired up, and ran great first try. Increased part throttle power. I had a big ol grin on my face.
