I have been tossing around the idea for quite some time now and I think I am ready to go for it.
My only issue is...
Should I go with a Supercharger or a Turbo?
I was told to go with a turbo as a SC puts stress on the motor (dunno if thats true or not)

1. What will Give me more power gains?
2. What is easier to install?
3. Where to purchase?
4. Do they come as kits with everything needed? (or will i have to piece things together?)

Thanks for the help!!!!

Seeing your an 03 you'll first have to upgrade to the 04 and up fuel pump before any power adder.
The Procharger will be the simplest install and you should be able to get a base tune with a Diablo from them.

The STS will have more power but a more complicated install and will also need tuning with the Diablo. I don't believe the SCT works on 03's.

For tuning Sean Hemifever should be able to hook you up. If not the IEMS for Northcoast is the setup os choice.

As for motor stress, both will cause the same issues and if you keep low boost you should be OK with the stock internals for a short while.

The STS seems to hold the trannys longer but many will argue that both will be about the same.

pm Kenihemi, he used to sell the kits or Guitarded. His is a killer truck. When you build your stroker, you need to discuss with your builder as FI motors need differant compression that regular. PM 392STU for the motors, AKA Inertiamotorsports, awesome guy and awesome customer service!!!!

Hardest part of the turbo will be cutting the muffler out and mounting, then the electical for the oil lines and returns.

Anybody know if any front mount (turbo) kits are in development yet? If not I wonder why not, there's plenty of room under there and there are several single digit 1/4 mile front mount Chevy LSx trucks. I too am not quite ok with that kind of hardware under the bed, too easy to hacksaw off.

getting a stroker can get very expensive FAST! Even on a tight budget you will spend over 5 grand. It helps a lot if you can do your own work though, don't have to pay for install. Like Dr.Dred said, see if 392STU can help you out on the stroker. Or just go to Inertia Motorsports

Everyone thinks the turbo is the expensive part. It's the tubing and accessories that cost the most.

Lets do some math

stock 5.7 hemi = 345 hp

stock 545rfe is good for 450 flywheel hp

boost = 200 hp

stock 5.7 + boost = broken pistons, and broken transmission

so what is the weakest link in the stock 5.7 bottom end? Say someone just wants to build up what they have? Is it the pistons, rods, or crank? Has anyone just swapped out pistons and rods? We all know our pistons love to grenade, especially under lean conditions... but how much more power can the stock crank hold?

That's not that easy to answer, because it depends on what caused the failure. But if an answer is needed, IMHO it would be the pistons, even though many of their failures could have been prevented.
