If I was to get a supercharger which should I get? I was hoping kenne bell would get theirs available sometime but who knows when that will be. I'm actually kinda scared to install one since my truck is fast as hell already and if my truck makes 500+ HP I'll have to modify susp. brakes, wheels, tires, etc. so that I don't end up dead trying to drive the beast. Just wondering which was best to get in case I go crazy and decide to buy one.

For superchargers, there a 2 that I know of.
GSM and Procharger.

Then there is the STS turbocharger.

You will not have to do all those other things unless you build the engine into a drag machine.

Is the problem with part throttle boost the same with superchargers as it is on a turbo system?

The part throttle boost condition is caused by faulty tuning.

It probably won't matter how its boosted.

I am just begining to look into putting on a supercharger on my hemi. I was wondering how badly everyone's gas mileage was affected and how was the power increase? I was also wondering what brand would be best? (Kenne-belle, paxton, whipple, gsm?)

You'll get better mileage from a turbo. At freeway cruising speeds, you can drive it at 0 boost/0 vacuum, therby not needing extra fuel. In fact mileage is increased because even though there's no boost, the turbo is spooling enough to give the motor the air it needs without it having to work hard

Welcome to HTC truly_wicked1 - we're glad you joined us!
I agree with Steve... a blower is on all the time. I had a GSM system on my '03 - that baby was kicking on at rpms as low as 1500. Gas mileage wasn't really an issue back then though. As far as power increase... the best dyno run I had was 419 RWHP.

Groupwelcome truly_wicked1. Guys, before you start thinking of putting in a supercharger or turbocharger, I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading your transmission first! Our trans don't like to hold much more than 500 hp.....things tend to break! Personally though, I like the Procharger setup.

Check out my new EBAY store!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome to the site. I am going to do a lot of research on this subject before I make any choices, besides I will not be doing it for a while. Also I was wondering if anyone knows if Squires Turbo Systems makes a kit for the 4.7 V-8. My brother is looking and I have not been able to find anything for it. He has an '03 dodge ram with the 4.7L V-8. Thank you all for your help. I am sure I will have more questions for you all on turbos for the HEMI. Once again thank you all for the warm welcome.

I don't see why you couldn't buy the sts kit for the 4.7 using the hemi kit. It's still a dodge rams.....Tuning will be different, but just call the guys at STS and check with them. They also sell universal kits
