I want to install lowering shackles to bring the rear down some, but I pull a 21 foot bass boat that squats the truck pretty good. Anyone tow with the shackles and do they have problems bottoming out?

I tow dad 19' Cobra and don't have any trouble. Have Belltech drop shackles. About 1.5" drop.

What kind of boat?

Those CDC look slick. 225 is noce too. Dad had Nitro 884 before this. Both have been awesome boats.

I like the CDC. Others not too fond of. Bet you get 75 plus in that? Do you have some good lakes around there? Don't know much about the water around there..

Just bought the boat a couple months ago, still playing with set up. The best I have got was 68. something on gps. No lakes around here, It is all coastal tidal water or rivers. we have the best of both worlds down here. you can catch a bass on one cast a redfish the next or a speckle trout the next.

drop shackles do not change your towing capacity.. they will however, help you find your bump stops faster... i towed a 72 short wide chevy, on a car hauler (tongue heavy) and had no problems with the belltech shackles.
It's more about how much weight you are putting on the tongue, than anything else. Do you know what the tongue weight is of your rig? If it is over say 500lbs, worse case, it looks like your trailer front post is adjustable... you could move the boat back 6-8", and put more of the weight on the trailer axles. We did this on of my uncles 21' skeeters/200 v-max, because he needed to tow it with his little toyota 4-runner. Worked out great.
