Its a good kit,and I have sold and installed many.
If you after a mildly easy install, and a firm ride along with sporty performance handling its OK. if your doing that kit because its easy to install the rear leafs versus a flip kit then your not doing yourself any favors if your not wanting a firm ride. The first one of those kits I installed I noticed issues. The kit has no frt bumpstops, which other comapnies dont either since the Rams have 33" tires and will definatley rub on bumps with a shorter bumpstop. The bumpstop clearance to the lower control arm dictates the ride quality and the amount of travel the tire will have, meaning will it scrape the frt wheel wells or not on big bumps.......bumpstops and tire size play a big part here. The truck had 31.5 tires so tire clearance was no issue so I had to install short bumpstops as the lower a arms were riding on the stock bumpstops. The rear leafs are very prone to squeaking and many have posted this, and even Eibach had said they tried to get them to stop with little things changed over the years. The rear bumpstops were another issue.....the rear axle gets slid rearward from the factory spot around a 1/2",and most other companies rear stops are slid back as well to keep the stop directly above the axle. The Eibach stop was also a very soft tall style stop, inserted into an aluminum low profile cup bolted onto a plate and was centered in the same spat as factory.....this placed the tall stop in frt of the axle and the first time it hit the bumpstop came loose from the retainer cup that held it as it is only pushed in with no retention device except a press type fit. Also the kit uses stock length shocks unless you get their shocks, and the truck I did then had already had upgraded stock length shocks and we had to use shock extensions fr them to not bottom out on big bumps. This truck ended up getting a modifed by me rear bumpstops so that the were centered on the axle, shorter and retained better so as to not fall out, also rear shock extensions were added. Once all that was done I was pleased but many arent willing to have to mod a kit to that extreme. If I were after a firm ride, and didnt want to do a flip kit for some reason,I would get the kit myself and make my usual mods to make it work to my pleasure and not have any problems. I myself prefer flip kits and I can make them work great and install easy and love the ride quality as my back cant handle firm riding trucks. All my dropped/slammed rams have had flip kits and nice shocks along with rear sway bars and they handled great, and performed as good as a flat leaf spring kit would. I know many have installed this kit as delivered and say they are great with no issues which is fine,as myself have installed more than one, plus installed just about every 3rd gen drop kit out including custom drops I make/build. I wont try to steer anyone away, just statng my personal experience. Also I dont liek the way flip kits get a bad rap. ______________________________________________ 2004 Quad Cab 2wd Hemi 5-7 dropped last week, now lifted 10" total with 37x12.5x17.....next week who know??NOW 16" total lift waiting on 42" IROKS!!
