Hows everyone doing? A real common question- Which cold air intake is the best? My truck has alot of chrome on it and Im trying to continue that under the hood. I like the looks of the AEM Brute Force intake or the MOPAR silver intake. However I have heard alot about the infamous "hemi tick" when you put one of these full tube intakes on. I dont really want to get into all the baffles and things that can be installed to fix it- kind of looking for a look without all the modifications. Any ideas or inputs on the tick getting worse with new intakes? The tick is loud enough as is- Thanks alot

MDS? I have an 03 2500 quad cab. The tick is actually kinda loud on my truck. Put a really loud magnaflow exhaust that exits behind the rear door (out the side ), muscle truck style and i can hear the tick over the exhaust. So i definetely dont want to make it any louder.

I like the polished look but I also like the filter being more towards the front of the truck like the 3rd strike and AEM intakes. Anyone have any input on the "AIRRAM" intakes? Know anything about them?

I never noticed a difference in tick sound between the three intakes on mine. The tick has always been there...I dont even notice it any more with the RAMHAMMER.

Im pretty sure this has already been answered somewhere on the forum but can someone explain the ramhammer to me. Ive seen it, not sure why everyone seems to love it. Feel free to let me know of any experiences youve had with it. So far, im not too thrilled about the look of it or the "spring" deal by the filter. Please fill me in- I dont even know what its made of. Is there a heat sheild made for that kit to cover the filter like the AEM Brute Force? Any info would be appreciated. Install Pics also would be great!!

The tick has nothing to do with an intake. My C does it more than the Ram, and the C is bone stock. Can't say that for the Ram. Wink

I've had three different CAIs on my 03, and it didn't make the tick any better or worse.

That ticking noise drove me nuts !! I took my 05 QC to the dealer and they told me there was a "star" recall in the computer on the year and they said it had 6 rods that were slightly longer than the others. They replaced the rods and would'nt ya know........It still ticks, just not as much ! Good Grief !

Id say to go with a K&N 77 series as well, it will contine that bright polished/chrome look you want, with straight thru performance. Plus it is very reasonably priced.
