Hey fellow hemi lovers!
I was looking for a head to head comparison of all the different air intakes which increase MPG: Airraid, K&N, AFE, S&B, AEM. Any feedback for any of these would be great. 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab Hemi currently averaging around 14 MPG... would like an increase. |

a cold air intake will increase performance at WOT, don't expect visible MPG gains at normal driving, it will be very little if any, at least i didn't.

I have gotten a little better MPG by changing filters more so than swapping an intake. But in turn goes down because of the WOT sound and my exhaust along with my SC performance.
2006 1500 QC TRX4 Offroad edition, factory tow package with 3.92's My mods are located on or in my truck,.. I have come to the conclusion they work better there than posted on here. Zeitgeist:Addendum |

OK, might be "dummy me" but what is "WOT"?
2004 QC, 2500 4x4, full cab factory style running boards, ARE cap, Mastercraft C/T 285/70/17 |

WOT is wide open throttle. If you have a VERY heavy foot!
This is based on the maximum amount of air that can get to the intake manifold - the stock one has a lot of air restrictions, high dollar aftermarket ones are smooth allowing air to flow easier thus increasing the volume of air that enters the manifold. beware of cheap ones though - they might look cool but not work as well. good luck!
