Figured I would share my ram-air CAI with you all, see what you think. It starts at the passenger fog light hole with a 6-4 inch rubber reducer, then 4in PVC up to the Amsoil cone filter. For a sealed filter housing I used, get this, a 1 gal. Rubbermaid paint container! Then I ran with 3.5in silicone hose to the throttle body. The reason I changed to silicone pipe is over on Dodgetalk there was a long discussion about using homemade pvc for an intake and concerns about pvc particles, pvc becoming brittle with the added heat and vibration, and so on. So I figured I would play it safe and use silicone after the filter. BTW, the IAT sensor was installed by cutting a hole slightly smaller than the sensor, pushing the sensor in tightly, and then running a bead of silicone around it. Not my ideal way to do it, but it works. Don't have a programmer or monitor to check air temps before and after. Gained about 1 or 2 MPG. Biggest plus would probably be that the truck seemed to regain its low end torgue and power that I think it lost when I installed the flowmaster exhaust. Haven't noticed much noise difference. And yes, I do plan to paint the pipe eventually.

lol, yeah, for some reason I had a hell of a time trying to upload pics to this forum. I was just happy to get them up. BTW, maybe someone could tell me how to put some of these badges on my sig that I see most everyone has. To answer the earlier question I have seemed to regain the lowend power I lost when I put the flowmaster on. It's much quicker off of a stop than it was.

that's one of the cleanest home made intake's I have seen. I like the silicone blue tube you used. Where did you get that?

bump I've been considering a similar setup. Can you go into more detail about the Rubbermaid paint container and how you modified it?
