See attached photos.... I modified the Dual Intake by using the original Oil Air intake tube and added a mini-K&N filter on the end of it. I'm not sure if it's going to stay this way...it's a work in progress.

Is there any advantage to having dual cold air intakes?

Looks good. I had that same setup on my 03 with an SRT hood. Only I changed my K&N's out for Amsoil dry flows. You will know why after you clean and oil those for the first time..... Wink

Without a scoop in the hood (assuming), how are you not pulling the hot air off of the motor?

Because our grills are so big when we're moving we move plenty of air to cool everything off.

I can drive 100 miles in 100+ degree weather, open my hood and put my hand on my intake tube and filters and they're not hot.

Sure, if you're sitting still in traffic for hours you might be sucking up hot air but who cares if you're sitting still anyway? Cold air doesn't do anything for a vehicle idling anyway.

The reason I got mine is so I don't suck up mud, rain and dirt all day long like most "cold air" intakes.

Another thing, Unless you have a big ass scoop, I'd be willing to bet that WAY more air flows through our grills than through a hood scoop

I like the dual intake, I was just curious about the heat. I only have a K&N in the stock box and haven't made up my mind about what kind of CAI I might want.
