I installed a True Flow XDI intake on my '06 Ram 5.7L Hemi this past Saturday. While driving on the freeway I noticed a new sound I dont normally hear. It initially sounded like the enigne reved up for just a fraction of a second. After a while I set the cruise control and watched it. The engine periodically revs up 100 rpms and slowly drops back down. This repeats over and over.

Is this a normal process? Is the computer trying to adjust for the differnce in air flow? If so... how long should it take? I've put on 50-60 miles, mostly freeway, on it.

that's your MDS kicking in and out, you only hear the diffrence now because of the CAI. if you ever do exaust work it will stand out even more.

I was all fired up and ready to disagree. For some reason I've always believed my truck did not have the MDS engine. Before I clicked 'Post Now' on my reply I decided to check again. Well..... it's the MDS.
