Hey guys I'm looking at a 3rd strike intake and was wondering if its true that you can pick up alittle MPG with one? I don't need an all out most power making intake just a good one to pick up some MPGs. Whats everyones thoughts? I'm also going to plan on a doing an electric fan mod too.

I wouldnt expect much in the way of MPG increase. My dad gets 18 MPG in a 2500 Ram hemi... but he drives 55 everywhere! It's nerve racking, blue hairs passing us giving us the finger. hide

The 3rd strike intake is definatly the most cost effective intake available, Duane offers up some sexy colors, and good customer service too.

I've never heard anyone say "I just installed my new intaske and WOW at the gas mileage!!" Not really the point for most of us I think. If you want guaranteed MPG improvement, drive slower. Just beware of the blue hairs. Big Grin

05 QC/SB 1500 4x4(awd) off-road. SRT-10 hood, Extang RT bed cover, Westin CPS wheel to wheel step bars. Custom tint. Debadged. SC programmer, VaraRam intake, Magnaflow dual exhaust... and more to come.

yeah I know it wouldn't be a huge increase just every little bit helps. I've been getting around 12 in town 16-17 driving 55-60mph and 14 going 70-75mph.
