I am desperately trying to find the factory tow rating for an 06 Megacab hemi with factory tow group and 3:73 gears. Have found a new camper that we really want, but GVWR on the camper is 8000 lb. Trailer Life publishes a yearly tow rating magazine, but is lists the Hemi w/ 3:73 at only 6750 lb.I really believe this is a misprint but I can't find the dodge published tow ratings for the 2006. HELP!!!!!!

Do a Google search for "max towing capacity, 2006 Dodge Ram Mega cab".
I quickly looked around and found a wide range of numbers... but the lowest was 7,400 lbs.

Thanks for your time and effort Mr. Hemi!
Both of my sons and families are home for a few days, so we fired up three computers at once.
Finally found tow rating page for anyone that is interested
Go to www.dodge.com/towing, and a great form will appear. You can plug in any Mopar product from several years back up to present, and it will reveal tow ratings with different gearing combinations.
My 2006 MEGACAB WITH 3:73 is rated to tow 7800 lbs. and same combination with 4:10 is rated at 8800 lbs.
This is an official Dodge website so numbers are correct.

So what have we learned in 2 millennia?

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."
- Cicero - 55 B.C.

Apparently, nothing......

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young,
compassionate with the aged,
sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
Because someday in life you will have been all of these."

i dont know whats up with that either.. i checked it out...
your truck (compared to other years) is rated for 8550lbs with the 3.92 gears. The 1500s only differ 100lbs in towing capacity between the years 03 and 06, when equipped with the hemi, and 3.92s. thumb2
