I will soon be making a cross country move from Washington to Kentucky. Does anyone know which would be better to tow with or if it would be possible. the two vehicles i have is 05 1500 Hemi RC/SB with 6inch Fabtech lift(stock gears) the other is 02 GMC Yukon(stock). I have towed a car (00 Eclipse) with Yukon but I dont want to drive both vehicles(may be an option depending on responses received here) thanks

What gears? I have the 3.55's in mine right now. 4.56 is the optimum range for 35" tires. Bigger gears = better towing. Check the rear axle, the ratio should be stamped somewhere between the passenger side of the housing and the spring perch. It might be on the lable too. goodluck

Right now the truck has stock gears( whatever they are). I wish I could go look but I'm in Iraq for another couple months.

I was mainly concerned about the power to move the weight.

No problem with the power. The 1/2 ton and the 3/4 ton trucks have the same wngine and tranny. the only difference in the towing capacity is the stiffer frame and the suspension, maybe the torque converter too. You shouldn't have any problems towing the Yukon with the stock setup. You might have some bogging down in the hills depending on if you use a tow dolly or the trailer. The uhaul trailer weighs about 2200lbs. The tow dolly only only about 300lbs. The yukon's wieght is around 2.5 to 3 tons. Our towing capacity is up to 8500lbs (1500 QCSB 4x4) and 10500lbs (2500 QCSB 4x4). Again, you should be fine. thumb2 goodluck
