I finally got my buggy done, and now need to be able to get it to and from the trails. I had a CTD w/ towed pretty much anything I had behind it (including 2 rigs on a GN). I prefer towing a GN vs a TAG, however I'm looking for people's experience with the GN and the HEMI. I have a 2500 QC SWB 4x4 w/ 4.10s and the auto. I've pulled about 6500lbs on a TAG for about 500 miles and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the HEMI did. What can I expect when towing the GN weighing about 5K then my buggy and maybe a small pop-up camper on it? I'm estimating total weight being about 9K give or take. I know Dodge says I can tow 10750lbs w/ my setup. Keep in mind my truck is stock, and will remain stock except for a CAI and Exhaust (I have a lifetime warranty on 95% of the truck). Thanks!!

It might be a pain, but I would weigh each separately on a trucker's scale to be sure of the weight. As long as you don't exceed the tow limitations, you'll be fine.
Don't look for great gas mileage while towing 4-5 tons Wink

Hey Fritz...you heading wheeling at Rausch Creek? Your hemi will pull that 9k# without any issues. Mileage will be in the single digits though. I have towed my lifted 4x4 Astro on a heavy bumper pull trailer and had a 4x4 four wheeler in the bed and it pulled with no issues even with one of the rear caliper stuck on! I averaged about 8.5 mpg in 3rd running any speed I wanted.

SWEET!! I'm glad to hear that it shouldnt be a problem towing the 9K. Yeah, I'm headed to RC hopefully before the years over. I also am gonna head down to Crozet and Big Dogs in VA. I have my TAG now, and between the buggy and the trailer I'm figuring at most its 5K, including my spare parts.

There is an open wheel down in Crozet in March and June of next year, and I plan to hit up all 4 Big Dog events.
