I might have put this in the wrong category but I have a 07 ram 1500 thunder road that has the towing package but i have a flat 4 pin connector. I recently got a 7' x 16' trailer that has a 7 pin connector. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to convert the 4 pin (male side) of my truck to a 7 pin connector so i can have lights on the trailer when i pull it. Thanks for you help with this matter.

The 07 Ram has a 4pin concetor tucked up under the bumper just left of the tag.

He's saying he has a 4 pin on the truck and a 7 pin on the trailer.
I don't think anyone makes an adaptor to go that way, but if the truck has a tow package it should have a 7pin recepticle already mounted to the bumper. If not you can pick one up at any camping or trailer store as well as WalMart. Then just wire the 4 wires for the lights into the wiring for the 4 pin. The dealership put my 7 prong on. It is the factory 7 prong and it plugs into the 4 prong that is already there, no additional wiring needed. Check with a Dodge dealer.

You can buy a 7-Pin housing that is prewired for a 4-pin to hook in the back which means you don't have to wire the housing. Makes install a snap. Just mount it in the bumper where the factory 7-Pin would have been.
